Pre-launch only -expected production in 2008
Merlo stole a march on the conventional access platforms manufacturers by launching pre-production examples of a brand new concept of high-speed articulated/tele boom platforms at BAUMA 2007!
The three machines intially shown have working heights of 20, 25 and 30m and share a common Roto-based carrier base. With a 74.9kW Deutz engine and hydrostatic transmission, this gives each machine a top speed of 40 km/h.
The machines differ in terms of their boom configurations - the 20m MRP20 has a fixed boom base and two-stage telescopic boom. Both bigger models have a three-stage tele boom, with the MRP25 fitted with the fixed base. The 30m MRP30 has a two-stage articulated boom base, giving tremendous versatility.
A version of Merlo’s innovative MERlin digital control system is used, getting the maximum performance with safety at all times. Single-button levelling suspension can cope with 5° lateral and 9° longitudinal slopes and the big tyres and ground clearance provide for a much better offroad performance than the norm with a MEWP.
Production is expected in 2008, with evaluation pre-series machines produced later this year.
