The Merlo factory is at Cuneo, in between Turin and Nice (1½ hours driving time from Turin airport). It includes some 128,000 sq metres of covered area. 

Employing some 820 staff, current extensions will bring the 2007 production rate well past 6,000 machines each year. As a result of continuing investment, production has been increasing at a rate of 20% year on year. Merlo produce a greater proportion of their product in-house than any other handler manufacturer, assuring very local quality control.

Six assembly lines are dedicated to machine 'families' and virtually all fabrication is automated and linked to the CADCAM system.
