Merlo prides itself on innovation - and the cupboard full of medals at Cuneo evidences this fact. As well as Gold Design medals in both Italy and France, Merlo also hold Italian and European patents for many design features, among them the side mounted engine and disappearing boom concept, and the unique sideshift mechanism.

In December 2002, the revolutionary Merlo MultiFarmer was awarded 'Best New Machine', in the self-propelled category, at the Royal Smithfield Show.

Merlo UK has had more than its fair share of awards in its short history, among them the ONLY SED Gold Medal for a handler!
